— Serving the Hydrogen Research Project of RWTH Aachen University and Johnson Electric
In May 2025, Yipusi Energy Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Electro-power-cell Energy Tech) successfully delivered an integrated solid-state hydrogen system—combining hydrogen production, storage, and power generation—to RWTH Aachen University and Johnson Electric Aachen GmbH, officially inaugurating a new chapter in Sino-German hydrogen cooperation.
Project Background: Targeting Frontier Research and Demonstration Testing
Led by RWTH Aachen University with Johnson Electric as industrial partner, this system focuses on:
Performance evaluation of solid-state hydrogen storage for low-pressure, mid-to-long-term applications
Coupled control studies between hydrogen power generation systems and fuel cells
Modular system validation for future transportation and industrial hydrogen applications
The project aims to provide experimental data and engineering prototypes for Europe’s “hydrogen replacing natural gas” technology roadmap.
Module | Specification |
---|---|
✅ Hydrogen Production System | Compact water-electrolysis module with laboratory-grade data interfaces |
✅ Solid-State Storage Tank | AB₂/AB₅ alloy materials, modular design, ~40 kg hydrogen capacity |
✅ Control & Safety System | Redundant sensors for flow, temperature, and pressure; supports SCADA communication |
✅ Hydrogen Power Generation Unit | Integrated high-efficiency PEM fuel cell stack; parallel-stackable; grid-tied/off-grid modes |
All equipment is CE and DIN certified for seamless deployment and operation in German and other EU laboratories.
