Against the backdrop of dual carbon goals and a global energy system transformation, the integrated utilization of green hydrogen and carbon dioxide is becoming a vital pathway for industrial decarbonization and renewable energy application. Recently, Electro-power-cell Energy Tech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. welcomed a high-level delegation from a leading Eastern European national energy enterprise. Both parties conducted in-depth technical discussions on the co-synthesis of green methanol and synthetic natural gas (SNG) based on a “Green Hydrogen + CO₂” integration strategy.
During the exchange, Electro-power-cell presented its independently developed core technology platform that combines green hydrogen production, carbon capture, and green synthesis. The delegation gave highly positive feedback on the system’s innovation and scalability. Highlights included:
(1) Skid-Mounted Water Electrolysis Systems: Independently developed using both PEM and AEM electrolysis technologies, these systems feature rapid start-stop, modular deployment, and load-adaptive control. They are suitable for applications such as renewable-powered hydrogen production, urban hydrogen refueling stations, and chemical feedstock replacement—making them a critical enabler on the green hydrogen supply side.
(2) Carbon Dioxide Capture Modules: Combining Direct Air Capture (DAC) and flue gas CO₂ recovery, the system supports adaptable CO₂ separation across a wide concentration range (from 400 ppm to over 15%). Based on field-tested data, multiple pilot-scale integrations have been completed, demonstrating strong potential for large-scale deployment.
(3) Green Methanol Synthesis System Engineering Model: Designed around a 5,000 tons/year standard module, the system uses an integrated Cu-Zn catalyst with thermally coupled reactor technology. It delivers high conversion efficiency and closed-loop material circulation, ideal for converting renewable energy into chemical storage or industrial feedstock in resource-rich regions.
(4) Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) Pathway: Through the methanation of green hydrogen and captured CO₂, the system produces clean synthetic gas suitable for urban gas supply, heavy-duty transportation, and distributed heating, forming a closed-loop cycle of "green electricity – green hydrogen – SNG – urban energy."
This technical exchange highlighted Electro-power-cell’s capabilities in system integration and engineering across key segments such as water electrolysis, carbon capture, green methanol, and synthetic fuels. The Eastern European delegation praised the technological maturity and demonstration potential of the platform and expressed intent to collaborate in the following areas:
(1) Joint evaluation of green hydrogen–CO₂ synthesis adaptability based on local energy structures
(2) Deployment of a 5,000 tons/year green methanol demonstration unit in Central and Eastern Europe
(3) Development of CO₂ recycling and utilization pathways integrated with local agricultural/forestry biomass sources
(4) Establishment of long-term technical and commercial collaboration to promote Eurasian hydrogen value chain integration
As a technology-driven enterprise focused on electrochemical systems and green energy conversion, Electro-power-cell Energy Tech is actively advancing globally deployable solutions centered around green hydrogen + carbon capture + synthetic fuels. The company aims to contribute more Chinese innovation and technology to the worldwide clean energy transition and industrial decarbonization.
